Fruit from our family vineyard were crushed and destemmed, fermented on skins for 10 days and pumped over twice a day. Most of the finished wine was transferred to old oak barrels purely with the intention of settling the wine rather than adding oak flavour. But a small parcel of this powerful fruit was put in brand new French oak. After exhaustive barrel trials, the finished wine is 25% brand new French oak and the balance, those lovely old barrels we bought from Molly Dooker all those years ago.

The nose is abundant with black and blue fruits also seen on the palate, which is full bodied and underpinned by fine tannins. Further breathing reveals more layers of flavour and complexity after the initial tranche of bright fruits. A superb example of care in the vineyard and judicious winemaking.
